Get books to young readers
Real, printed, keep-them-forever books for preschool through 2nd grade — the years a reader is made. Classrooms, libraries and families who ask.
The Chris Forsberg Racing Literacy Foundation
Driven to Read exists to get books into the hands of young readers — preschool through 2nd grade — and to carry racing's never-give-up spirit into the years when a reader is made.

Our mission
Getting books into the hands of young readers — powered by the same stubborn heart that wins races.
A tree growing out of an open book, on a racetrack. That's the logo, and it's also the plan: reading is the thing that grows, and we're just here to keep the track open.
The book that started itHow it started
Chris put the story of Force — a little rescue cat with an enormous dream — into a picture book for the kids who line up at his pit wall.
Copies went out at the merch tent between sessions. Small hands, big eyes, a book about a cat who wanted the podium.
They wanted to talk about it. That was the moment the family realised a book could travel further than a race car — so Driven to Read was born.
Every copy sold at the track sends more books to young readers.
What we do
Real, printed, keep-them-forever books for preschool through 2nd grade — the years a reader is made. Classrooms, libraries and families who ask.
Race weekends are loud, fast and full of kids. We bring books to where their attention already is, and hand them over in person.
Not reading levels. Not homework. The part where a child asks for one more page — because that's the habit that carries everything else.
Ways to help
The Story of Force is available at race weekends, and every copy sold sends more books to young readers. It's the most direct thing you can do.
Teachers, librarians, reading volunteers — tell us about your readers, how many there are and what they're into. We'll tell you honestly what we can send.
Teams, tracks, shops, publishers and anyone with a crate of books and a good idea. Small partnerships are how a young foundation grows.
We're a new foundation finding its feet. There's no online donation processing yet, and purchase links for the books are still on the way — so everything above is a conversation rather than a checkout.
Get involved
Know a room full of readers?
Tell us about them. Classrooms, libraries, reading nights, race weekends — if there are kids and there could be books, we want to hear about it.
